Chilean fauna's day 

On November 8, 2014, is celebrated in our country's the Chilean Fauna's day for the first time, organized by the Roots & Shoots program in Chile, which seeks to generate interest in the population of local species and their protection..

It is important for us wildlife lovers day. The day is celebrated with a fair in Quinta Normal in Santiago, sponsored by organizations such as the Ministry of Environment, CONAF, CODEFF, Selva Viva, Chiloé Silvestre, National Zoo and others.

The idea of this event is to generate interest in the Chilean people for it's environment, it's native species, their characteristics, ecological importance and distribution throughout the country, also for the community to know, value and therefore want to protect some important of our natural heritage.

The celebration includes an educational conference and trade show where you can learn about the great diversity of wildlife in our country. You need to create awareness among the people; children, adults, seniors, teenagers, everyone, because there are many endangered species such as the Darwin's frog, Darwin's fox, Southern Huemul, Northern Huemul, Juan Fernández firecrown and some more.
